No kidding, leather sofas look great when they are new! However, over time, they fade and don’t look as good as they once did – they look tired!

We’ve had our sofa for coming up two years now which has seen us through two summers. During the summer months, the sofas are blasted with sun every day as our garden is south facing. Needless to say, this hasn’t helped the situation. Neither has our toddler beginning to climb all over them with grubby hands and feet.

Time to sort it out!

When we bought the sofas from DFS, we were provided with some cleaning boxes that had wipes and conditioner in it. Whilst it cleaned the sofa, it really didn’t do anything to help restore the leather to how it should look. I started doing some research into other products on the market and then I stumbled upon Renapur

I read some reviews of the product that had some before and after pictures of the same DFS sofa that we have – The CEASER. All the comments where very complimentary of the the product which scores an impressive 4.8 on over 1,500 reviews.

I decided to order some on amazon prime and give it a go!

The Product

The product itself is 200ml which was plenty for a three seater sofa and an armchair – we
only used half of the pot which should give us another application at a later date.

It comes with two sponges that can be used for the treatment. As you can see from the picture on the right, you will probably need to buy new sponges for the second application as they get quite grubby.

I would describe the consistency of the product as waxy – like a matt hair wax. The beauty of the product is that it doesn’t go off so you can store it in a cupboard and not worry about using 1,2 or 3 years later. It will have the same results

The Results

As with all cleaning products, I started with a side that doesn’t face into the room. This side of the chair also faces our wood burner so over the winter months, has been exposed to constant heat.

As you can see, the left side of the chair looks MUCH better! At first it has quite a ‘wet’ look but after a few hours, the leather has absorbed the wax and turns to a matt finish (see before and after pictures below)

All you need to do is rub the wax in with the sponge provided in a circular movement and the product does the rest. Use sparingly!

This area of the chair sits in the sun for most of the day and it is quite apparent from the ‘white’ look that the leather has taken on. The area on the left has been treated and has returned to the original shade of leather.

It’s quite clear from the before and after pictures above, both the chair and the sofa look good as new! For £12, I really couldn’t recommend this product more. It is so nice to have the sofas looking like they are new again.
